What are attunements? An attunement works on the understanding that everything is energy, including yourself. There are certain types of energies that are more beneficial for certain things such as energy ranges that are best for abundance, clearing chakras, reducing stress etc. We already have these energies as part of us (everything is energy, and we are all one), but may not be fully aware of or be skilled enough to access these specific energy ranges with the aim of bringing about a particular result. This is where attunements come in.

What Are Attunements?

An attunement is an energetic process that aims to allow you to remember, and access in the future, a range of energies by temporarily increasing these desired energy ranges within you that are already a part of you. It does this so you can remember these energies again and then more easily activate them in the future as you have been reminded of their frequencies.

Many energy healing practitioners speak about bringing in energies or transferring energies from one person to another. This is the typical language used to explain a perception or way of energies working or acting. However, as we are all one energetically, nothing is necessarily moving or being transferred as such. It is language being used to explain who is remembering the energy and who is setting the energy ranges to be remembered.

Attunements form an integral part of many different types of energy healing practices and are there to assist you in remembering and accessing different types of energies. This has the potential benefit of significantly accelerating your spiritual development and reducing your time in trying to access these energies yourself. However, attunements are tools, and should not be solely relied upon in any spiritual work. This is because the person who creates the attunement is typically only accessing a range of energies that they can access. It may not be all the energies available for that specific need, so always use an attunement as a starting point.

There are more names for the same process. Names used are attunement, initiation, activation, empowerment and spiritana. All describe more or less the same activity: connecting with an energy.

In fact it is just a name, but it does tell where this is all about. During an attunement there is made a connection with an energy. This attuning just means taking care of a good and harmonious energy connection. And making sure you are receptive so the energy will integrate better in your energy field and do its work. It can be compared with the tuning button of an old radio. Sometimes people talk with each other but do not understand each other. Then they are not at the same wavelength. The better you attune to each other, the better you get along. This is the same with energies. Attuning well to the energy enhances the quality of the energy and its use.

You can attune to Reiki both by distance or in-person. Both types of attunements are just as effective as each other at attuning you to Reiki energies. The choice of which kind of attunement you choose is personal, and the decision should be lead by your intuition and what feels right for you. Anyone who firmly pushes their beliefs or suggestion onto you, especially without having experience of both types of attunement, should be questioned.

Be open to your truth and use discernment when choosing a teacher for either type of attunement.

There is a case for both types of Reiki attunement, and there is something to be said for the personal touch of a Reiki master when receiving an in-person Reiki attunement. Although personal contact is not necessary for a Reiki attunement, some students feel more confident with this and should do what is right for them. Always follow your heart and intuition. In-person attunements are not for everyone though and are not necessary for Reiki attunement.

This blog post does not intend to put forward the argument for both cases. It aims to give you the benefits of distant Reiki attunements. It is designed for those who are curious about distant Reiki attunements or feel open to receiving them and for those who are unable to receive in-person Reiki attunements. It is worth mentioning that Reiki is only one of the thousands of energy healing modalities. You can pass all attunements by distance with many being explicitly designed for distant attunements.

• Receiving distant Reiki attunements often give you more attention and focus than if you were in a large class.
• Distant Reiki attunements allow those who are shy in groups to be able to ask questions and feel more comfortable and secure.
• You are given constant email tutorage before, during and after your course purchase and attunement.

Through a lot of experience, I know that distant Reiki attunements are just as effective as in-person Reiki attunements with the above benefits. Combined with on-going professional training, support and dedication, distant Reiki attunements have produced some extremely competent, and confident Reiki practitioners.

Although not everyone is equally aware of it, each of us is made up of energy, and everything we perceive does. In fact, everything is energy, and matter could not exist if it were not made of energy. We are always working with energy: a thought is energy, an emotion likewise, breathing is energy, moving is energy… Only it is much more advantageous if you can work with energies in a focused way (energy work). And if you can precisely find those attunements that are of benefit for you. Therefore I have made a variation of attunements available. So you can pick those that help you the most.

As a rule, receiving an attunement is experienced as a soft energy, which can be felt as a stream, flow, warmth, a cool gentle breeze, a soft touch or tingling. It can be felt in your aura and in your body. Many people feel it come in through the chakra that is best developed. Where the energy can come in the easiest, there the energy will flow.

Mostly the experience of the attunement is peaceful and loving. Sometimes it is felt as coming home. Making you feel more your Self. The attunement can make you feel more grounded, stronger, more in the Now and more attached to your soul. Often you have that feeling of happiness. Because every person and every energy field has its own unique character, its own finger print, an attunement will have a personal touch. So your personal experience may be unique.

An attunement takes 25 minutes. But with preparation and quietly coming out of the attunement it may take 35-40 minutes in total. It would be good to be present at least 5 minutes before the attunement starts. This makes you more receptive to the attunement. And after it stops, it may be wise to also take some time to relax. So the energies get time to integrate well.

That is really simple. All you have to do is activating the attunement, by saying the name of the attunement in your mind (or aloud if you like that better). Then the energy will flow again as if it never has been away. In general this flowing of the energy won’t be as strong (and long) as during the attunement. But it will grow stronger by practicing. As a result, the energy of the attunement becomes more and more anchored in your energy system.

An attunement serves mainly to optimize your own body and energy system. And in addition, for example, to promote certain spiritual matters such as Love, Trust, Positivity. You can always let the energy of an attunement flow into your body and aura, but normally not out of your hands. However, people you are together with can benefit from the good energy flowing in your aura.
